We recently certified the value of several hundred Residential Content items for the purpose of Estate Settlement. There was a single beneficiary with no necessity for an equitable distribution consideration. The family accountant needed the value of all of the tangible assets (residential contents), real estate value, and securities value for determination of estate tax. The contents included the residence furnishings, an automobile, recreational vehicles, farm equipment, and tools. The client provided to us brief descriptions of the items and digital images. The information was shared securely online. There were no items in the estate with significant value but the aggregate total exceeded $100,000. The client reduced the cost of the appraisal service by providing the necessary information and avoiding an onsite examination.
