APPRAISER COMMENTS:

Information provided describes this as an oil seascape by
Impressionist painter, Claude Monet. The subject is the Etretat Cliffs,
which the painter captured on more than one occasion. Looking at the
signature, we are not entirely convinced this is genuine. That is partly
due to the use of the full date (which we rarely see on a Monet) and
partly due to the formation of the letters, specifically the L, T, and
even the M. We would strongly advise checking the provenance carefully
and having the piece authenticated before assuming it is genuine. If
this piece were genuine, it would be worth around $5 million. For
purposes of this appraisal, we will assume that it is not authentic, but
some sort of a reproduction/copy.

looks as if there are lines on the front.
